3. Have the 8th grade literature class build their own wiki page in my wiki to keep the poetry that we will be doing this year. Hopefully, this could extend further to other parts of the class this year.
The 8th graders have posted two poems on the wiki so far. They have responded well to this activity, although some are apprehensive about other middle school students being able to read their poetry. I may consider making a separate wiki for each grade level; however, I do like that the students would be able to see the work we are doing in other grades. This wiki has already been extended into other parts of this literature class. Presently, students are finding horse idioms, a picture to represent it, and sharing the meaning. In addition, I plan to cover characteristics of various literary genres. The students will be posting the information for each genre so other students can reference this information.
